Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Counselor to join our School Based Mental Health (SBMH) Provider Team at CommQuest Services, Inc. As a School Based Mental Health Specialist, you will deliver counseling services to students and families in K-12 / Continuing education settings.

We have an opening at Minerva High School and a split position with Intermediate and Middle School in North Canton.

CommQuest Services is one of the largest non-profit mental health, addiction recovery, and social services organizations in Northeast Ohio, working with clients from more than 34 counties in 12 facilities through more than 20 programs. We help people make positive changes in their lives through in-patient, outpatient, and school-based programs, along with supportive services - from basic needs to employment assistance.


As a School Based Mental Health Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and lead an integrated continuum of care for students
  • Address barriers to learning and improve behavioral and academic outcomes
  • Provide strength-based counseling interventions, crisis intervention, and individual/group counseling
  • Collaborate with school staff and community partners to support student success

What you'll do:

  • Coordinate, develop, and lead an integrated continuum of care for students
  • Address barriers to learning and improve behavioral and academic outcomes
  • Develop treatment and discharge plans
  • Provide strength-based counseling interventions, crisis intervention, and individual/group counseling
  • All other duties as assigned

Schedule:

Dayshift; Monday-Friday. Paid summers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field
  • Minimum LPC or LSW from the State of Ohio
  • Minimum of 2+ years post-licensure experience (a plus)
  • Counselor-Trainee or Social Work-Trainee may be considered with previous experience in the field

    • Flexible work scheduling with supervisor approval to make up time during workshop weeks
