Respiratory Therapist PRN

Centerpoint Medical Center is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist PRN to join our team. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required.
- Must hold a current Respiratory Therapist license from the State Board for Respiratory Care.
- NBRC RRT certification required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS preferred upon hire.
- ACLS and NRP required within 6 months of hire.

We are part of HCA Midwest Health, a network of hospitals in Kansas City and surrounding areas.
