About the Role: Insight Global is looking for a talented and meticulous HVAC Systems Design Engineer to join a leading client in the Portland area. In this position, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and enhancement of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for diverse commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative approach and a solid foundation in mechanical engineering, with comprehensive knowledge of both airside and hydronic HVAC systems, as well as expertise in mechanical design software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineer and design HVAC systems customized to meet commercial building requirements.
  • Create system layouts, perform calculations, and select appropriate equipment.
  • Enhance HVAC system efficiency for energy conservation and cost savings.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Offer technical support and guidance throughout the construction phase.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
  • Commitment to obtaining a PE license in Oregon.
  • Over 7 years of experience in HVAC design, covering both airside and hydronic systems.
  • Solid understanding of electrical controls and power related to mechanical systems.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to engage with clients, showcasing excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with plumbing and piping system design is advantageous.
  • Possession of an active PE license in Oregon is a plus.
