Job Description

Columbus House is an equal opportunity employer seeking a skilled and compassionate Rapid Rehousing Specialist to join our team in New Haven. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of homelessness issues, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Assist clients with finding, securing, and maintaining housing, including conducting inspections and submitting monthly fund requests for rental and utility assistance
  2. Link clients to community resources, such as medical and mental health services, employment opportunities, and educational programs
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with landlords and property managers to secure affordable housing options for clients
  4. Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to Columbus House's standards and regulations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience working with homeless populations or in a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with HMIS and other database systems

Salary: $25.50 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and 10 paid holidays.
