Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Counselor to join our team at Supreme Living. As a Certified Peer Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing peer support, guidance, and advocacy to residents in our residential treatment facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to individuals in their recovery journey.
  • Aid in addressing barriers and obstacles to their recovery.
  • Participate in resident Treatment Teams.
  • Assist residents in developing life skills in areas such as living, learning, working, and socializing.
  • Support peers in gaining independence in the community.
  • Report changes in the individual's condition to nursing and MHP staff as appropriate.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely charting in ECP using accepted abbreviations and terminology.
  • Complete documentation as required.
  • Meet with residents regularly to offer individual support counseling.
  • Assist individuals in developing community support systems such as developing supportive relationships, self-advocacy, stable housing, education, and employment.
  • Facilitate educational groups as assigned.
  • Share recovery stories that are relevant and helpful in overcoming obstacles.
  • Promote personal responsibility for recovery.
  • Model skills in recovery and self-management.
Requirements
  • Must have completed the educational requirements as a Certified Peer Counselor in Washington State as defined in WAC D-0200.
  • Must have valid Food Handler's Permit from the Health Department.
  • Meets health requirements, i.e. - flu vaccination, COVID-19 vaccination and booster, tb testing - per licensing requirements.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License required or the equivalent if residence in Washington is new.
  • Must demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
  • The Certified Peer Counselor must be in recovery and willing to share their recovery journey.
