Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

WORK LOCATION:

· Fort Bliss - El Paso, TX

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

· Education: Must have completed a diploma program from a nationally accredited or state-approved vocational nursing school, with a minimum duration of nine months.

· Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

· Experience: A minimum of one year of full-time experience as an LVN within the last two years is necessary.

· Licensure: Must hold a current and unrestricted LVN license in any of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

· Citizenship: U.S. citizenship is required.

· Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication.

· Physical Requirements: Must be capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods and able to perform all necessary services as outlined in the contract.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSES (LVNs):

· Perform essential nursing functions within the accepted scope of practice, similar to those of Medical Corps Officers or government civil service providers.

· Gather patient history and relevant family information.

· Administer Health Risk Appraisal questionnaires.

· Conduct quality control checks and maintain service member care equipment.

· Assist in identifying service member needs and implementing care plans.

· Document all care provided in accordance with established directives, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and legible.

· Prepare service members for physical examinations.

· Execute prescribed orders from Physicians, PAs, and/or NPs, documenting appropriately in medical records.

· Communicate relevant service member information to Physicians, PAs, and/or NPs as necessary.

· Recognize and respond to emergency situations, initiating life-saving measures when required.

· Address telephone inquiries regarding clinic services and follow-up reports.

· Assist with administrative tasks related to clinic operations.

WORK SCHEDULE:

· Shifts are typically Monday through Friday.

· Standard shifts will be 8 hours, scheduled between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM, with a 30 or 60-minute break.

· Shift assignments will be determined by the scheduling officer.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

Must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to reprioritize tasks on short notice. Strong teamwork and time management skills are essential, along with the capability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure setting. A high level of adaptability and a willingness to embrace change are crucial in this demanding role.
