About the RoleThe Informatics Specialist will work within the scope of a project to deliver informatics solutions that support the practice from planning through full implementation and adoption. This role requires a strong understanding of multiple clinical sciences, computer science, and information technology to identify, collect, process, and manage data.
Responsibilities- Employ information system life cycle and other tools to analyze data and systems requirements.
- Transform data and information into actionable knowledge and wisdom utilizing multiple information and analytical sciences.
- Provide leadership, consultation, and direction for information technology that impacts clinical information management from planning through evaluation.
- Serve as a bridge between clinical departments and other institutional groups, linking clinical practice, technology, and information management to enhance patient care.
- Coordinate the change management process, including revising workflows and standardizing policies to successfully implement automated systems.
- Identify clinical practice workflow and process issues, provide guidance to define support and requirements that will optimize system performance and technology utilization by clinical caregivers.
- Translate data into information of value for leadership's decision of strategic recommendations for program development and action plans.
- Serve as an information technology consultant to all clinical disciplines as well as management.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of health and advocates privacy.
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or science field.
- Masters degree preferred.
- 5 years clinical or health technology experience with 1 year's experience with systems implementation, design, and/or analysis.
- For licensed disciplines, the candidate must possess and maintain licensure in accordance with Oklahoma State law.
- Professional certification such as Nursing Informatics Specialist or RHIA preferred.
- Demonstrated computer literacy with strong knowledge of software applications.
- Experience in training or teaching others.
- Strong project leadership, organizational, and planning skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written).
