Clinical Informatics Specialist

The Clinical Informatics Analyst will be responsible for analyzing clinical workflows and understanding policies, procedures, and constraints across inpatient, ambulatory, and ancillary support areas within the Epic application. This role ensures workflows align with Epic best practices to improve efficiency and patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with health system users to identify service gaps or workflow challenges within the Epic application, proposing innovative solutions that add value.
- Provide guidance on alternatives and evaluate the impact of new or updated systems and technology.
- Plan and coordinate the analysis, design, and testing of clinical projects.
- Coordinate recommendations for application improvements.
- Provide on-call support and problem resolution for Epic applications.
- Act as module administrator for various functionalities with the Epic suite.
- Serve as the point of escalation for end-user issues after the Service Desk for Epic incidents and requests.
- Responsible for escalating issues and requests to third-party support when appropriate.
- Provide training to end-users for specific Epic applications.
- Provide in-depth analytic results and recommendations to customers.
- Handle complex requests from business and clinical leaders.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Nursing Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience with Epic EHR.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in clinical care or other health-related operational setting.
- Proven ability to plan, design, coordinate installation, test, and modify complex systems and subsystems.
- Proven ability to interpret and evaluate client informational needs and to determine appropriate alternative solutions.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis to identify, assess, and resolve complex issues within clinical systems, particularly in the Epic application.
