About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Physician Assistant to join our team at SpecialtyCare. As a Surgical Physician Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our surgeons in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a First Assistant or Second Assistant to the surgeon during surgical procedures, performing tasks such as holding retractors, tying off vessels and tissues, and repairing incisions and lacerations.
  • Perform complex surgical techniques as needed and directed by the physician, working in various surgical specialties.
  • Document all procedures and services to patients on face sheets and process face sheets in accordance with established procedures to ensure accurate billing.
  • Share on-call responsibilities with the rest of the team as directed by the team leader.
  • Perform all activities in accordance with established policies and protocols, including all orders supervised and countersigned by the physician.
Requirements
  • Must hold certification/licensure as a CSA, LSA, RNFA, PA-C, or NP.
  • Previous surgical experience as a First Assistant is required.
  • Ability to build and maintain business relationships and retain and grow the business.
  • Strong physician/surgeon relationship skills and team mentality are essential.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to work at multiple locations as needed.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with team members, hospital staff, and physicians.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as scheduled, including weekends and holidays, and to be on-call as scheduled.
