Communication Specialist

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position in Communication Studies. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.
Key Responsibilities- Teach assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean.
- Help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content.
- Assess student learning outcomes.
- Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in the regular teaching field.
- Continuing professional development.
- Utilize current technology in the performance of job duties.
- Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.
- Assist with articulation and curriculum development and review.
- Serve on college committees and participate in faculty governance, including accreditation and student co-curricular activities.
- Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean.
- Fulfill other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member.
Initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree, upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional occupation experience per the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers Contract (the initial maximum placement is Class V, Step 1).

Minimum QualificationsHave a master's degree in Speech, Speech Broadcasting, Telecommunications, Rhetoric, Communication, Communication Studies, Speech Communication, or Organizational Communication; OR bachelor's in any of the above AND master's in Drama/Theater Arts, Mass Communication, or English; OR the equivalent.
All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire.
