Emergency Department Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's Medical Center. As a key member of our emergency department, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Assess patients upon admission to the emergency department, providing comprehensive nursing care and making appropriate referrals as needed.
- Perform and document patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history.
- Administer and document medications, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
- Report changes in patient condition to supervisor and physician, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Provide comprehensive inter-shift reports, ensuring a smooth transition of care.
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.
- Experience as a Patient Care Technician in an acute care setting or capstone rotation in St. David's Healthcare facilities - preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, but not required.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License, with Texas license obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy within 6 months.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 24 months of hire.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 24 months of hire.
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 12 months of hire.
