Emergency Department Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team at St. Davids Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient experiences.
Responsibilities- Assess patients upon admission to the emergency center and provide comprehensive nursing care.
- Perform and document patient assessments, including determining complaint and severity of illness.
- Appraise and document patient and family educational and psychosocial needs and make appropriate referrals.
- Administer and document medications, and report changes in patient condition to supervisor and physician.
- Provide comprehensive inter-shift reports and report patient needs to appropriate hospital personnel.
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department.
- Experience as a Patient Care Technician in an acute care setting or capstone rotation in St. David's Healthcare facilities is preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited Nursing program.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy within 6 months.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 24 months of hire.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 24 months of hire.
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 12 months of hire.
