About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Mechanical Engineering and Design Co-op program. As a co-op, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in mechanical engineering and design while working on real-world projects and collaborating with our experienced team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare product layouts with direction from engineering
  • Design components and assemblies using 3D CAD systems
  • Adhere to engineering drafting and release standards
  • Participate in the product development process, including design brainstorming and voice of customer activity
  • Process Change Action documentation, including the development of bills of material
  • Perform research and investigation to obtain missing information and to ensure all specifications are correctly presented on documentation
  • Use FEA (finite element analysis) tools to analyze parts and assemblies in static and dynamic environments
  • Research and present on a variety of current and next-generation technologies
  • Perform required calculations to ensure all dimensions, tolerances, and other specifications are correct as represented on documentation

As a co-op, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop through exposure to leadership, engaging in development opportunities, and networking with other early-career professionals. You will also have access to training and development programs, community events, and mentorship opportunities.

Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Juniors and Seniors preferred (Grads December June 2026)
  • 3D Software modeling experience
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Candidates applying for nVent's Co-op and Internship Program must have current work authorization and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. nVent does not provide work authorization sponsorship.
  • Ability to work in Anoka, Minnesota full-time
