About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design Engineer to join our High Density Liquid Cooling business. In this role, you will have the freedom and flexibility to contribute as a key member of an innovative and entrepreneurial team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply specific technological expertise to projects, including heat transfer, hydraulic network design, sheet metal design, and weldment design.
  • Perform analysis and simulations of products and customer conditions to validate design specifications and performance.
  • Work with designer specialists to ensure designs meet customer requirements, are optimized for manufacturability, and incorporate standard processes.
  • Team up with operations leadership, manufacturing engineers, and quality engineers to simplify designs and improve manufacturability.
  • Specify purchased part requirements and work with supply leaders to source parts for use in designs.
  • Work with multi-functional teams to help launch products by taking market specifications from design to prototype to production.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to partner with customers, engage in industry partnerships, and establish relationships enabling us to advance our product and technology reach.
  • Translate customer needs into product specifications.
  • Lead prototyping with some hands-on support as needed.
  • Design test specifications and protocols, coordinate testing in our world-class laboratory facility, and help review test reports for completion and accuracy.
  • Direct outside test activities, such as regulatory or other third-party testing.
  • Work with outside vendors to develop designs and related technologies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or related engineering field.
  • Ideally 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge in hydronic/water pumping systems for cooling/heating.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics and selection of components.
  • Knowledge of heat transfer and fluid flow.
  • Experience in design and failure analysis tools, such as DFMEA, DFM, and RCCM.
  • Ability to design components and assemblies using 3D CAD systems, such as SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of psychometric analysis and refrigeration a plus.
  • Experience in NPI Stage Gate process and ERP system a plus.
