Position Overview:
The Client Safety Navigator plays a crucial role in ensuring a secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors. This position requires the use of verbal de-escalation techniques to effectively manage crisis situations and behavioral issues, with a commitment to being available on-site 24/7.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment for all individuals on the premises.
  • Utilize de-escalation strategies to manage high-pressure situations and foster a respectful atmosphere.
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor key areas, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment.
  • Carry Narcan at all times and be prepared to respond to drug overdoses as necessary.
  • Keep accurate logs of client and visitor sign-ins and file incident reports when required.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and community organizations to enhance service delivery.
  • Demonstrate understanding of social determinants of health and the importance of holistic care.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Experience with supportive counseling strategies and recovery principles is preferred.
  • Training in crisis de-escalation techniques is essential.
  • Familiarity with local behavioral health and public health systems is advantageous.
  • 2-4 years of lived experience within the community behavioral health or criminal justice systems is preferred.
