Job Summary:

The Family Shelter Program Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and coordinating activities, outings, and events to create a positive and supportive environment for our residents. This position will work closely with a team of case managers, resident coordinators, and behavioral health clinicians to provide intensive support to help families achieve stability and independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate activities, outings, and events that promote mental health well-being and create a safe and fun shelter environment
  • Access the needs and interests of families and plan activities accordingly
  • Coordinate and schedule groups of service providers, volunteers, and interns to host activities with residents
  • Manage the monthly activities calendar and encourage resident participation
  • Facilitate group or individual activities and ensure the safety of clients and program areas
  • Develop trusting relationships with individuals and families and provide support to help them achieve their goals
  • Supervise interns and volunteers and complete accurate and thorough documentation in a timely manner
  • Participate in case management meetings, staff meetings, trainings, conferences, program evaluation, and program development
Requirements:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience required
  • Experience working with severely mentally ill, medically fragile, and homeless populations preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record for insurability under the agency's insurance carrier's standards
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
