Distribution Engineer

Leidos is seeking a skilled Distribution Engineer to join our Power Delivery Services Team. As a valued team member, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems for Leidos electric utility customers
- Review work provided by clients and assess requirements of scopes
- Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis, guying calculations, and voltage drop and flicker calculations
- Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met
- Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design
- 2+ years of relevant work experience performing electric distribution design engineering
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution
- Experience with utility reliability projects and proficiency with the NESC
- Ability to utilize a personal vehicle for customer-related travel
- Willingness to perform both field and office work, with occasional outdoor work
- Previous QAQC experience
- Experience with design tools such as Pole Foreman, O-Calc, Spida-Calc
- Experience with the Work Management System CREWS
- Relevant experience with the utility FirstEnergy, or JCPL
