Job Title: Distribution Engineer

As a Distribution Engineer, you will have the opportunity to gain expertise in various areas, including NESC, Structural Pole Modeling, Electrical Power Calculations, GIS design training, Project and Financial Management, and Client Design Standards. Your work will involve:

  • Developing design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems
  • Reviewing work provided by clients and assessing requirements of scopes
  • Performing engineering calculations, such as structural analysis for wood pole loading, guying calculations, and specifying conductor sags and tensions
  • Providing engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews
  • Conducting root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in electric distribution design engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution
  • Experience with utility reliability projects and proficiency with the NESC
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with design tools, such as Pole Foreman, O-Calc, and Spida-Calc

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous QAQC experience
  • Experience providing estimated costs and development of a BOM
  • Experience with design tools, such as CREWS
  • 1 year or more of Relevant management or leadership experience
