Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at PMI Entertainment Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the internal event operations of the Resch Complex, ensuring that all events are executed to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise set-up crew and participate in set-up/conversion duties.
  • Orient and train new hires, schedule, assign, train, and direct the workload.
  • Supervise facility lead personnel in planning weekly and daily work.
  • Analyze event service orders and prepare staff schedules and work plans for operations crews.
  • Coordinate all event information to properly and effectively set-up for events.
  • Ensure employees have necessary equipment, supplies, and training to complete the procedure.
  • Supervise the proper use and care of equipment to prevent injury to employees and customers or damage to equipment.
  • Serve as Event Supervisor which includes opening and securing the building, supervising staff, checking the building for proper set-up and safety as well as maintaining proper heating, cooling, and lighting.
  • Keep proper inventory of equipment used by clients.
  • Supervise the preparation and installation of the ice floor for hockey and skating events.
  • Follow all company directed guidelines on energy conservation and practices conserving energy with all business practices at PMI.
  • Periodically supervise and participate in cleaning and custodial duties.
  • Perform yearly reviews of staff.
  • Communicate maintenance and other problem areas to Operations Manager and Director of Facility Operations & Safety.
  • Perform building security functions.
  • Serve as a back-up to Operations Manager for payroll purposes.
  • Document all safety, security and potential discipline issues and report them to supervisor.
  • Document all attendance issues of scheduled staff (call-in, no show, ask off, etc.).
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and new developments in the industry by reading appropriate literature and attending related seminars.
  • Perform necessary tasks to maintain and upkeep the facility and existing equipment.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of maintenance at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school.
  • Approximately 6 to 12 months related work experience necessary to gain a full understanding of show and conversion operations.
  • Analytical skills necessary to assign work to part-time staff or to revise show layouts to meet building codes.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of company personnel, outside contractors, and sales personnel when discussing clients' needs and to direct subordinate personnel.
  • Must be able to operate forklift (in-house training will be required), hand tools, drill press, circular and table saws, Zamboni (not required, but experience is a plus).
  • Full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity to operate conversion equipment.
  • Eye-hand coordination to operate equipment such as a truck or forklift.
  • Standing, climbing, bending, and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Frequently handles and lifts, carries, or pulls items weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.
  • Must be able to distinguish and identify colors.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending, or reaching for extensive periods of time.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Requires hearing within normal range and eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read communications, reports, and computer terminals.
  • Requires working in a fast-paced environment and on occasion, irregular work hours as dictated by schedule of events.
  • This position will be dictated by the Company event schedule, primarily on 2nd and 3rd shift.1st shift may be accommodated as the event schedule allows.
  • Requires public contact and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with daily workload and a variety of people.
