Job Overview
The selected candidate will independently manage a variety of administrative responsibilities for the Graduate Director of the department. This role requires familiarity with the academic calendar, the ability to anticipate deadlines, and preparedness for fluctuations in workload. The individual will be expected to make independent decisions regarding the operations of the Graduate Director's office and act as the primary liaison among the Graduate Director, graduate students, applicants, and Graduate School staff.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree with no prior work experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
A Master's degree in Student Personnel Services or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential. The candidate must establish a courteous and supportive relationship with the public, particularly students, parents, and faculty. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required, along with proficiency in personal computer applications, including comprehensive knowledge of MS Office. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are preferred, as well as the ability to make independent decisions and maintain confidentiality.
