Job Overview

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Professional Assessment Specialist to join our team at 1st Choice, LLC. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality assessments and support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across New York.

Estimated Salary:$65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and conduct person-centered assessments with individuals and families in their homes or community settings across New York.
  • Utilize conversational interviewing techniques to prioritize individual preferences and needs.
  • Arrange professional interpreter services as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a human services discipline (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Nursing).
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a human services field.

Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of two years working with adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Preferred: Experience conducting assessments and adapting interviewing techniques.

Skills:

  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based tools.

Additional Requirements:

  • Location: Must be based in New York; assessors outside NYC's five boroughs require reliable transportation with valid insurance and license. Location will be determined based off of the clients needs.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel throughout the assigned region.
  • Schedule: Flexible availability, including one weekend per month.
  • Professionalism: Maintain professional attire during client visits.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a quiet, remote environment; agency provides cell phone, laptop, and mouse.
