We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our technical team at Life Science Connect. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and security of our systems infrastructure, as well as providing top-notch support to our team.
Key Responsibilities- System Monitoring and Alerting: Ensure that our systems infrastructure is properly monitored and alerted to prevent downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Identity Management: Manage identity and access control on our platforms using Azure Active Directory and Active Directory Domain Service.
- Group Policy Management: Develop and deploy Group Policy objects to optimize our global security posture and enhance end-user workflows.
- Hardware and Software Management: Install, configure, manage, patch, and secure hardware and software according to established standards and compliance requirements.
- Documentation and Process Development: Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, processes, and troubleshooting documents to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency.
- IT Infrastructure Analysis: Analyze IT infrastructure and system performance to assess operating costs, productivity level, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
- Facilities and Security Management: Oversee the facility of systems, networks, and enterprise information, ensuring the security and integrity of our data.
- IT Security Audits and Investigations: Facilitate IT security audits or investigations to identify and address potential security risks.
- IT Budget Management: Monitor and manage the IT budget to ensure effective delivery of IT services.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Independently identify, research, and resolve technical problems to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Server Management: Manage file, print, and application servers to ensure smooth operation and optimal performance.
- Inventory and Licensing Management: Maintain inventory and licensing records for hardware and software acquisitions.
- Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Technical Design and Estimation: Develop technical designs and estimates to meet business needs while supporting the company's overall IT direction and standards.
- Network Architecture Diagrams: Create and maintain up-to-date network architecture diagrams to ensure accurate representation of our systems infrastructure.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other IT-related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in IT and System Administration.
- Availability: Available to work off-hours to perform maintenance or in case of emergencies.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of network protocols, experience supporting an array of applications on Windows operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory administration experience, experience troubleshooting and repairing hardware and network problems in virtual and physical environments, and more.
- Cloud Management: 4-5 years of Azure Cloud management experience.
- Scripting: Experience with scripting, including PowerShell or Bash.
- System Security Design and Principles: Experience with system security design and principles.
