Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Donor Specialist to join our team at LifeStream Blood Bank. As a Donor Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mobile blood donation centers, providing exceptional customer service to donors, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety in blood collection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct donor registration, interviews, and physical assessments to ensure donor eligibility and safety
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures for whole blood and apheresis collections
  • Monitor donor recovery and provide care for adverse reactions
  • Conduct daily equipment and supply setup and breakdown, as well as quality control on specified instruments
  • Accurately complete all required documentation regarding donor, procedure, QC, and cleaning records
  • Recruit donors to various Blood Bank programs and promotions
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required; Medical Assistant Diploma, Certified Nursing Assistant Diploma, Emergency Medical Technician Certificate, or Phlebotomy Certificate preferred
  • One to two years' customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and work in a laboratory and medical environment with high risks
