About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Air Quality Specialist to join our team at the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. As a key member of our Ambient Air Quality Analysis section, you will play a critical role in improving our understanding of air quality in the Bay Area and supporting our programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement air monitoring studies to collect actionable community-scale air quality data
  • Analyze and interpret air monitoring data to inform our programs and policies
  • Collaborate with community organizations to develop and implement air monitoring projects
  • Provide technical expertise to Air District staff, industry, and the public
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as chemistry, computer science, or environmental science
  • 5 years of experience in air quality inspections, monitoring, or program management, with at least 2 years of lead or supervisory experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to various audiences
  • Experience with air toxics monitoring data collection and analysis, as well as project management and coordination
