Principal Software Quality Engineer

As a Principal Software Quality Engineer at Broadcom Corporation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the robustness, reliability, and efficiency of VMware Cloud Foundation's (VCF) Operations and Management layer. This position is part of our strategic initiative to upgrade skills within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Leadership:
Lead the development and implementation of rigorous testing protocols, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks. Ensure all releases meet high standards of quality and reliability.
Complexity Management:
Manage the complexity arising from new features, integrations, and scale within the VCF Operations and Management layer. Develop and enforce best practices for scalability and maintainability.
Proactive Issue Identification:
Identify potential issues before they escalate, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures. Integrate lessons learned into future projects to avoid recurring issues.
Leadership and Mentorship:
Provide technical expertise, leadership, and mentorship to QA and development teams. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams, to ensure high-quality deliverables. Maintain and enhance the reputation of VCF solutions through consistent quality assurance.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Either a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 12+ years of experience in quality engineering or Master's degree plus plus 10+ years of experience in quality engineering and at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Technical Skills:
Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and software development methodologies. Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, and maintainability best practices. In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere. Experience in private cloud operations. Proficiency in Java and related frameworks.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities. Effective communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders at all levels.

Compensation and Benefits:
The annual base salary range for this position is $141,000 - $225,000. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
