Milk Specialties Global presents an exceptional opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager.

The Quality Assurance Manager is accountable for the comprehensive safety, quality, and regulatory adherence of the manufacturing facility. This role encompasses the formulation and execution of a proactive quality management system, compliance with specifications, training and development of personnel, quality assessment of raw materials and finished goods, labeling accuracy, resolution of complaints, and effective communication with sales and operational teams regarding quality trends, challenges, and opportunities in line with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a culture of excellence by exemplifying a positive mindset and innovative approaches that align with business objectives.
  • Oversee and enforce the Quality Assurance Program at the facility, ensuring adherence to established policies and the integrity of data.
  • Define quality assurance standards for finished products, in-process evaluations, and raw materials, ensuring compliance by production teams.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to set quality benchmarks for incoming materials and monitor compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop all QA staff, consistently enhancing performance standards. Create educational and development initiatives for team members, including standard operating procedures, quality criteria, safety protocols, and job expectations.
  • Manage the laboratory budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and enhancing profit margins.
  • Conduct timely investigations into customer complaints, providing analytical insights. Engage with customers as necessary to resolve quality issues, representing Milk Specialties Global professionally.
  • Support operations in establishing protocols and overseeing product and process development, documenting all findings.
  • Oversee the management of off-spec inventory, including scheduling and reprocessing of products as required.
  • Perform internal audits and evaluations of vendors and contract manufacturers as needed.
  • Enhance and maintain all quality assurance laboratory data reports, conducting statistical analyses on production, laboratory, and formulation data.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable company, state, federal, and international safety and regulatory standards.
  • Stay informed on advancements in production methods, formulations, analytical techniques, and relevant regulations, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
  • Assist in training production staff on product quality monitoring, including proper sanitation of equipment and storage practices.
  • Coordinate pest management services.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in quality assurance management within the dairy manufacturing sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO).
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a Life Science or related field.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory testing methodologies and software applications.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational capabilities.
  • Prior supervisory experience is essential.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
