ROLE OVERVIEW

The Skin Care Specialist (SCS) plays a crucial role in driving sales within the skin care segment by engaging with customers to assess their unique needs, guiding them in selecting and purchasing skin care products, and upholding the store's overall standards, including cleanliness and inventory management. This position collaborates closely with the Experience Manager (EM) to enhance performance metrics (service and retail sales, in-store events), foster a positive culture (guest service and team dynamics), and ensure adherence to operational protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The SCS is a representative of Ulta Beauty's core mission and values, demonstrating them consistently through the following responsibilities:

Sales Performance

Drive the achievement of store goals related to retail and service sales, customer loyalty, and omni-channel performance, with a specific emphasis on the skin care category. Ensure exceptional customer service by warmly greeting and engaging each guest, tailoring service to their specific needs, and suggesting complementary products. Manage transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges, with professionalism. Conduct skincare assessments and product demonstrations to enhance sales and customer satisfaction. Schedule appointments and assist in executing services and in-store events that provide an unparalleled customer experience while achieving skin care sales objectives. Stay informed about emerging trends, products, and services in the industry to better assist customers. Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.

Team Collaboration

Foster an inclusive atmosphere that supports colleagues and customers alike. Educate customers about the benefits of the loyalty program and the Ulta Beauty app. Work collaboratively with management and team members to enhance business growth. Engage in ongoing training to support professional development and improve skin care sales outcomes.

Operational Excellence

Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and standards. Adhere to the company's dress code. Maintain a well-stocked and organized work area, ensuring hygiene standards are met for testers and products. Uphold high operational standards, including cleanliness in all areas of the store. Participate in merchandising resets, marketing displays, and inventory processes using best practices. Protect company assets by following loss prevention protocols while delivering outstanding customer service. Complete additional operational tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

A high school diploma is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.

Skills

Proven sales and customer service skills. A passion for skin care and consultative selling. Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. Capability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Frequent mobility throughout the store during shifts. Regular standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 10 lbs. Continuous coordination and manipulation of products.
