Job Summary

Focused Staffing Group is seeking a highly qualified Science Teacher to join our team at a charter public school in New Jersey. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for providing an approved education program and establishing a class environment that fosters learning and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Lesson Plans: Create and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of each pupil, align with national and NJ Student Learning Standards, and promote active learning in the classroom.
  2. Assess Pupil Progress: Assess pupil academic progress and personal growth toward stated objectives of instruction through Unit Assessments and maintain records of pupil's educational progress.
  3. Communicate with Parents: Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to inform them about the school program and to discuss pupil progress.
  4. Establish Classroom Environment: Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a classroom climate conducive to learning.
  5. Supervise Pupils: Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities as assigned and maintain a professional appearance, competence, and continuous improvement through in-service education and other professional growth activities.
Requirements
  1. Valid Instructional Certificate: Hold a valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate and Subject Area Endorsement or eligibility.
  2. Effective Teaching Methods: Demonstrate knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods.
  3. Positive Learning Environment: Maintain a positive learning environment and establish good relationships with parents/guardians and other staff members.
  4. Strong Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Technology Proficiency: Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in the use of educationally appropriate technology.
Working Conditions

The Science Teacher will work in a dynamic and supportive school environment, collaborating with other professional staff members to assess and resolve learning problems and modify curricula pace and delivery as needed for special needs students.
