Position Overview:
The All-Network Meal Service Coordinator will oversee essential tasks related to delivering meal services across various educational institutions.
Responsibilities include receiving, preparing, heating, serving, and portioning meals at designated sites. Adherence to the quality standards set by Revolution Foods is crucial, ensuring that all menu items meet approved standard operating procedures (SOPs).Coordinators will be informed of their assignments the day before or, in urgent cases, on the morning of their scheduled service.
Due to the dynamic nature of the role, the coordinator must be ready to travel and provide services for multiple meal periods at different locations throughout the day.
Participation in special company events, such as BBQs and food tastings, is also expected.
Reliable transportation is a must, and coordinators will receive reimbursement for mileage incurred. A minimum of 20 hours per week (4 hours daily) is guaranteed from Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. On occasion, hours may extend beyond the guaranteed amount based on operational needs. Punctuality and adherence to the time and attendance policy are essential.Essential Qualifications:
- Ensure compliance with food quality standards and HACCP protocols from delivery through to presentation and service.
- Follow recipes and guidelines to set up and dismantle the food service area, prepare, stock, assemble, and serve meals, snacks, and beverages.
- Handle student ID cards, cash, or checks, and provide change as necessary, operating the Point of Sale (POS) in accordance with school contracts and government regulations.
- Assist the service team with food management, setup, service, and cleanup after breakfast and lunch.
- Document daily activities, waste, participation data, and variances, completing daily checklists (cleaning, timelines, logs, etc.) while adapting to changes in business models and communicating these changes effectively.
- Keep students informed about the scheduled menu and new offerings, seeking feedback on food quality and preferences during non-service times (if permitted) and relaying this information to management.
- Maintain a food-safe environment in compliance with state, federal, and Revolution Foods food safety policies, ensuring a clean and organized service area.
- Promote a safety-first environment, eliminating hazards such as wet floors and ensuring proper use and storage of knives and equipment.
- May be required to rack trays and products and prepare racks for use or collection.
- Participate in the company’s green waste compost and recycling initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Understand and accept that Revolution Foods reserves the right to modify employee school assignments and schedules at any time, with or without prior notice.
Experience and Education Requirements for the Role:
- At least one year of customer service experience in a mid to high-volume food service environment or restaurant.
- Basic computer and mathematical skills.
- A ServSafe food handler's permit is required for school premises and can be obtained post-offer acceptance.
- Successful completion of pre-screening requirements such as background checks, fingerprinting, and TB tests, which must be maintained every 1 to 3 years as per requirements.
- Review and sign any necessary company documents or training that are updated or mandated annually.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Ability to be punctual and work a flexible schedule, covering early morning and mid-day shifts.
- Knowledge of safe and proper food handling procedures and kitchen equipment is preferred.
- Commitment to the Revolution Foods mission of providing nutritious, delicious food to support the healthy development of children.
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service, collaborate effectively with others, and function as part of a team.
- Able to physically meet job requirements and lift 25-50 pounds.
- Capable of working collaboratively and communicating effectively with team members.
- Able to clock in and out using the Revolution Foods UKG Mobile Application.
