Critical Care Technician PRN

At Cooper University Health Care, we are seeking a skilled Critical Care Technician PRN to join our Intensive Care Unit team. As a Critical Care Technician PRN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our interdisciplinary team.
Job Summary:The Critical Care Technician PRN will assist with patients' activities of daily living, plan of care, and communicate with and support healthcare team, patients, and/or patient's family or significant other(s). The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in patient care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Support the activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assisting with mobility and transport.
- Perform technical duties as directed by RN, such as phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, Foley catheter care specific to population served and documents appropriately.
- Identify and communicate changes in patient's status to RN and responds appropriately.
- Reinforce education of patient and family/responsible party regarding individual care needs and safety issues.
- Participate in Cooper patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
- Participate in the performance improvement activities.
- Assist in orientation of new hires.
- Complete annual unit-specific competencies by specified due date.
- Attend Staff Meetings when available for documents review of staff meeting minutes.
- Assist in admission, transfers, and discharges of patients to and from the unit.
- Successful completion of an unlicensed health care provider/technician program.
- Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accredited RN Program.
- 1 year or more patient care experience in a similar role.
- AHA Basic Life Support certification.
- Skills in communication, phlebotomy, and EKG competency.
PRN days, hours: 7a-7p.
