Position Summary

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for drafting specifications for minor software development tasks and conducting testing in alignment with company protocols, client requirements, and regulatory standards.

Note: This position necessitates access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and/or Personal Health Information (PHI) to fulfill job responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluates programming modifications and/or system upgrades to current applications; tests and confirms the precision of program alterations.
  • Implements system modifications utilizing RPGLE and SQL.
  • Offers on-site infrastructure assistance, including the setup and deployment of PCs and associated software, as well as server administration.
  • Tests programming modifications resulting from bug resolutions, enhancements, development, and version updates. Collaborates with developers to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Examines data files and identifies discrepancies.
  • Drafts specifications for software modifications; coordinates adjustments with vendors and clients.
  • Designs, generates, and assesses reports, queries, data, and procedures on systems, including the scheduling and distribution of forms and mailings for various periodic processes.
  • Assists in the development, planning, and execution of new client implementations.
  • Provides technical support, training, and problem resolution for end users.
  • Documents system and client support workflows.
  • Performs additional related tasks and special projects as assigned.

Working Conditions
  • Normal physical effort is required in a standard office environment with comfortable, stable temperatures and the absence of unpleasant elements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or two years of experience in a third-party administrator setting with relevant technical expertise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and applications.
  • Basic understanding of business operations with a solid grasp of project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with database systems.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of professionals.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or two years of technical training.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Two years of experience supporting and/or developing applications in an IBM Series I environment.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting or with a third-party administrator.
  • Experience with Taft Hartley businesses.
