About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Navigator to join our team at the Greenville County Commission On Alcohol & Drug Abuse. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing duties and assist the Medical Director in all areas of patient care, including physical exams and necessary tests.
  • Use clinical judgment in conjunction with physician orders and prepare prescribed medication.
  • Serve as the primary nurse for Outpatient clients and assist in patient care in all programs as needed.
  • Complete Behavioral Health Screen and/or Nursing Assessment on all new clients and screen for opioid use disorder.
  • Screen clients for overdose risk and provide Harm Reduction supplies, including Narcan and referrals for clean using supplies.
  • Perform Rapid HIV and Hepatitis C testing and complete required reporting.
  • Provide education groups on risks of HIV, Hepatitis, IV use, and TB, etc.
  • Participate in community events and perform Narcan training with clients, caregivers, and the community.
  • Assist with employee/intern/volunteer health needs, including TB tests and Hepatitis B vaccinations.
  • Perform and/or supervise the administration of prescribed medication to patients.
  • Utilize special skill, care, knowledge, and judgment in providing a wide range of nursing care.
  • Assist with medication recalls and patients in referral services for other medical issues.
  • Emergency Medical Response required (BLS).
  • Coordinate care with clinical and medical staff and confer with medical director in determining patient care and treatment.
  • Complete documentation in electronic medical record in a timely manner.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and valid SC Nursing License. At least one year of professional experience in treatment of substance use disorders.
