We are looking for a committed IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team at Brake Check. This role is essential for providing comprehensive IT assistance across our retail outlets. You will be responsible for the planning, monitoring, troubleshooting, implementation, maintenance, and repair of various technological devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, telecommunications, and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Device Management: Oversee the deployment, management, monitoring, and support of all end-user devices, including desktops, laptops (Windows and MAC), mobile devices (Android and iOS), scanners, and printers.
  • Help Desk Operations: Utilize Solarwinds Help Desk Software to create, monitor, update, document, and resolve support tickets. Analyze trends and propose changes to minimize incident occurrences.
  • Effective Communication: Keep management and key stakeholders informed about system statuses through timely updates and regular reports. Maintain proactive communication with end users, providing updates on issues and sharing insights on trends and solutions.
  • System Access Management: Ensure uninterrupted access to essential business applications, including email and intranet services.
  • Technical Support: Deliver Tier I support for internet and telecommunication services across all store locations.
  • Operational Management: Adjust repair orders and invoices related to POS software issues and oversee operational reporting.
  • On-site Assistance: Visit retail locations to install hardware/software and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
  • Process Enhancement: Continuously review and refine processes, procedures, and technologies to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Training and Development: Stay informed about emerging technologies and engage in company-sponsored training and certification programs.
  • Availability: Provide support during weekends, holidays, and after-hours as needed.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • At least 5 years of technical support experience
  • Minimum 3 years of help desk experience
  • Proficient in LAN, WAN, and wireless networking technologies
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7/8/10, laptop hardware, software, and operating systems
  • Proficient with Android and iOS mobile devices
  • Familiar with DOS Command Line Shell and Scripting
  • Proficiency in Symantec Ghost, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Office 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Lync, SkyDrive/OneDrive)
  • Understanding of network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Knowledge of computer security, including malware, antivirus, and Symantec Endpoint Protection
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for PCs, laptops, printers, and peripherals
  • Proficient in virus protection and diagnostic software

  • Basic knowledge of MAC OS
