Temple University's Public Safety Department:

About the Role:

We are seeking certified law enforcement professionals to provide exceptional service to the Temple University community. As a Campus Police Officer, you will be responsible for providing police patrol in both uniformed and plain clothes operations, and carrying out all functions related to police services that are primarily for students, faculty and staff of Temple University, but also include the community within the jurisdictional patrol area surrounding the University.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide police patrol in both uniformed and plain clothes operations
  • Carry out all functions related to police services
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Are currently Act 120 certified or currently enrolled in a Municipal Police Officer's Training Act (Act 120) program and be 60% complete
  • Must be in the process of obtaining a Municipal Police Officer's Training Act (Act 120) out of state waiver or Military Waiver
  • Must successfully complete a medical physical, psychological and extensive background investigation
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements for Temple University Police Officers
  • Must be willing to submit and successfully pass a physical, drug screening, psychological exam and background investigation
  • Must possess a clean criminal and driver history
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work nights/weekends/early mornings
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize, understand, accept and appreciate the value of workplace diversity, and to respect the practices, values and points of view of other individuals and groups
