Academic Faculty Position

University of the District of Columbia is seeking an experienced educator to fill an Adjunct Professor role in Urban Sustainability. This position offers a unique opportunity for instructors to share their expertise and passion for sustainability with students.
Salary: $80,000 per year (estimated). We are committed to providing our faculty with competitive compensation packages.
Job Description: As an Adjunct Professor, you will teach assigned courses as specified in the schedule and course contract. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and selecting texts and instructional materials, preparing course materials and lesson plans, and delivering course content using a variety of teaching styles. You will also provide interesting and engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you must possess a high level of professionalism, including collaboration, excellent communication and customer service skills. You should also have a commitment to a learner-centered environment.

Others: The ideal candidate will have experience teaching urban sustainability or a related field, and will be able to maintain records of enrollment and attendance, assessments and grades, submit class rosters and grade sheets by the deadlines established by the institution. You will also be expected to provide a classroom environment conducive to learning, establishing and maintaining classroom control, and encourage students to submit course evaluations, review course evaluations when available and use feedback to improve course delivery. Regular meetings with Program Directors, Department Chair/Associate Dean of Academic Programs will also be required.
