The Distributor Sales Consultant is a pivotal role focused on expanding and nurturing a designated territory, primarily engaging with salons and beauty establishments. This position encompasses areas such as San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Atascadero, Paso Robles, Arroyo Grande, Morro Bay, and Pismo Beach, California (CA).

The DSC is tasked with the responsibility of enhancing the overall sales performance of assigned salon clients. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Meeting and exceeding defined sales targets by leveraging manufacturer training and sales tools.
  2. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing client relationships.
  3. Collaborating with salon owners to develop, implement, and assess the effectiveness of promotional initiatives.
  4. Maintaining timely communication regarding sales strategies and performance metrics.
  5. Conducting thorough analyses of client accounts to determine necessary support and promotional activities.
  6. Engaging in proactive outreach to potential clients through various channels.

In addition, the DSC will:

  • Manage all administrative duties efficiently, including order processing and customer data maintenance.
  • Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions on product knowledge.
  • Provide regular updates to management on sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Demonstrate expertise in utilizing digital platforms and social media to enhance business growth.
  • Participate in trade shows and other events, contributing to the setup and management of displays.
  • Commit to ongoing personal development and adapt to market changes to maintain competitive edge.

To qualify for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of one year of demonstrated experience in outside sales or within the beauty sector, emphasizing consultative selling.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and visual merchandising practices.
  • Proficient knowledge of social media platforms for business development.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
