Float Nurse Specialist

DaVita is in search of a dedicated Nurse who is eager to provide life-sustaining care in outpatient dialysis facilities.

Your role will significantly impact the lives of patients and their families facing end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease.

Key Aspects of This Position:

  • Previous dialysis experience is essential.
  • Training may occur in various facilities or training clinics apart from your designated home clinic.
  • Flexibility to float to different clinics during and after your training period.
  • A flexible schedule is required, including availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Provide care to patients with multiple co-morbidities, necessitating unique treatment plans and a diverse range of nursing skills and knowledge.
  • Supervise a group of patients with the assistance of Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to perform patient observations, measure vital signs, and set up equipment.
  • Engage your intellect, compassion, and skills daily in a dynamic work setting.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) from an accredited nursing school is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N) or a three-year diploma from an accredited program may substitute for the nursing degree.
  • Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), or Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) settings may be beneficial but is not mandatory.
  • Certification as a Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) is a plus.
