Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team at UCHealth Memorial Hospital North in Colorado Springs, CO. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our oncology clinic by scheduling and registering patients, obtaining demographic information, and performing related clerical functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments, follow-up appointments, and assign appropriate length of visit per physician request.
  • Provide instruction to patients regarding what to bring to the appointment, time of appointment, and location of physician.
  • Register patients for medical care, including laboratory, outpatient services, physician, or other medical office.
  • Collect and confirm complete patient demographics, current employer, emergency contact information, insurance, and case-specific information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility for governmental insurance payors and complete Medicare Secondary Payor Questionnaire for all Medicare eligible patients.
  • Review patient accounts for outstanding balances and forward to Accounting.
Requirements
  • Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
