KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Aggregate Transport Specialist, you will operate a truck fitted with a dump body to carry and unload loose materials, including sand, gravel, crushed stone, concrete, or asphalt. Your role will involve transporting aggregate materials to ready-mix facilities and various road construction sites, as well as moving materials from crushing operations to storage locations.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Drive tri-axle or quad-axle dump trucks, Super 7, end-dump, or tractor-trailer trucks.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and coolant.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the truck's interior and exterior.
  • Perform minor repairs and light maintenance on trucks as needed.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Drive responsibly to and from job sites.
  • Occasionally operate a loader to assist in loading materials.
  • Utilize a ladder to clean the interior of the dump box.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and clients, ensuring a professional image and prompt resolution of issues.
  • Complete additional tasks as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One to three months of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Must be trained in accordance with MSHA regulations before operating machinery.
  • Previous experience driving dump trucks is required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Valid CDL - Class A license and DOT physical card are mandatory.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Capable of reading and understanding simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to present information clearly in small group settings.
  • Accurate completion of daily inspection reports is essential.
  • Familiarity with map reading and customer communication.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and measurements.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and reporting of unsafe conditions.
  • Responsible for personal actions and commitments, with a willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to climb on and off equipment frequently throughout the day.
  • Physical demands include pulling oneself into and out of the truck and operating controls to unload materials.
  • Exposure to high noise levels and various physical hazards is inherent to the role.
  • Familiarity with machine tools and equipment typical for this line of work.
