Job Summary:

As a Residential Care Specialist with West Virginia Employer, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in our behavioral health program. Your primary responsibility will be to provide a safe and supportive living environment, ensuring the well-being and dignity of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Orient residents to the program, including schedules, rules, and expectations.
  • Monitor and facilitate interventions as needed, documenting resident behavior and activities.
  • Coordinate chores, purchase supplies, and note house repairs.
  • Attend staff meetings, participate in client care treatment planning, and transport clients to appointments.
  • Respect resident rights and responsibilities, and maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures, including confidentiality regulations and mandated trainings.
  • Support new employees and ensure the safety, health, and well-being of consumers.

Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to respond calmly to emergency and crisis situations.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to demonstrate positive and appropriate interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and Mandt certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in Behavioral Health, preferably chemical dependency.
  • Knowledge of the disease of addiction and early recovery issues.
  • Knowledge of treatment resources, including 12-Step Fellowships.
