Asphalt Quality Assurance Technician

Job Overview
W-L Construction and Paving, a prominent player in the construction industry, is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Quality Control Asphalt Lab Technician. This position is essential in ensuring that our asphalt products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct sampling of asphalt materials to verify compliance with specified testing requirements.
- Collaborate with management, plant staff, and crew members to coordinate daily and weekly sampling schedules.
- Engage with Department of Transportation inspectors to facilitate the collection of necessary samples and mix designs.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of asphalt production processes and procedures.
- Work closely with the Quality Control Manager to ensure adherence to quality specifications and production timelines.
- Uphold ethical standards and safety protocols in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Prepare and submit accurate documentation to the Quality Control team.
- Analyze test results and proactively address any issues that may arise.
- Exhibit professionalism and courtesy in interactions with colleagues, clients, and the public.
- Adapt to changes in scheduling, location, and shift times as required, including potential overtime and travel.
- Assist in various roles as needed to ensure project completion.
- Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) policies and maintain PPE in good condition.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Pass a drug screening and background check.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not mandatory.
- Certification as an Asphalt Plant Technician is required.
- Additional state certifications may be necessary.
