Job Overview
As a key member of our team, the Asphalt Quality Control Technician will be responsible for ensuring that asphalt products meet the required specifications through rigorous testing and sampling procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct sampling of asphalt materials to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with management, plant staff, and transportation inspectors to coordinate the collection of necessary samples and mix designs.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of asphalt production processes and procedures.
- Work closely with the Quality Control Manager to ensure adherence to quality specifications and production schedules.
- Uphold ethical practices and safety regulations as mandated by the company and OSHA guidelines.
- Prepare and submit accurate documentation to the Quality Control department.
- Analyze test results and proactively address any issues that may arise.
- Exhibit professionalism and courtesy in interactions with colleagues, clients, and the public.
- Adapt to changes in scheduling, locations, and shifts as needed, including potential overtime and travel.
- Assist in various roles to ensure project completion as required.
- Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) policies and maintain PPE in good condition.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Pass drug screenings and background checks as part of the hiring process.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; certification as an Asphalt Plant Technician is required.
- Additional state certifications may be necessary.
