About the Role
The Quality Assurance Supervisor is a critical role responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Quality Assurance Management Systems to support the manufacturing of wholesome and quality food products. This position serves as an SQF Practitioner, responsible for maintaining and implementing policies and procedures in accordance with SQF code.
Responsibilities
- Implement corrective actions and preventative measures related to food safety and food non-conformities.
- Supervise QA Technicians and ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Implement developed policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct daily verification of documentation and records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Implement cleaning, housekeeping activities, and master sanitation schedule to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Investigate food safety and quality-related incidents discovered through customer complaints and reported by Production personnel.
- Develop and implement Pest Control and Microbiological Programs to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Conduct internal monthly audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage Product Specification and compliance with labeling requirements.
- Maintain Company Food Safety and Quality Training programs for new hires.
- Conduct pro-op inspections and operational inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collect finished product weights to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Monitor cooler temperatures to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Conduct verification throughout the day to ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are being followed.
- Implement maintenance documents and ensure they are up-to-date.
- Lead customer audits and third-party audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Respond promptly to customer requests and concerns.
- Lead inspections from the Agriculture Department and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for sampling product to the State of Agriculture.
- Responsible for approving new ingredients and packaging.
- Support product development and launch.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of quality experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably in the dairy industry.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations and experience with third-party food safety audits.
- Food Safety Certificates: HACCP, SQF Practitioner, PCQI.
- Proficiency in quality management systems and tools, such as ISO 9001 and Six Sigma.
- Maintain a positive work environment and ensure a culture of quality and safety.
- Understanding of regulatory guidelines and ability to ensure compliance.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Availability to work 1st or 2nd shift as needed by the business.
