Personnel Security Manager

Department of the Treasury

This role is situated within the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration's (TIGTA) Office of Mission Support (OMS), specifically in the Human Capital and Personnel Security (HC&PS) division, overseeing Personnel Security (PERSEC).

You will report directly to the Director of HC&PS and function as the Personnel Security Officer (PSO), holding supervisory authority over the strategic planning, development, execution, and monitoring of the Federal PERSEC and National Security Clearance (NSC) initiatives at TIGTA.

Key Responsibilities

As a Personnel Security Manager, your duties will include:

  • Providing expert guidance to the Inspector General (IG), Principal Deputy IG (PDIG), Deputy Inspector General for Mission Support/CFO (DIGMS), and other senior executives on Federal PERSEC and NSC policies and practices.
  • Planning, organizing, and directing the operations of the TIGTA PERSEC and NSC programs, including determining optimal budgetary and personnel needs.
  • Overseeing the formulation, dissemination, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and standards related to Federal PERSEC and NSC programs.
  • Establishing and supervising the TIGTA Federal PERSEC program to ensure compliance with personnel suitability security requirements.
  • Leading the PERSEC team by planning, assigning, prioritizing, and reviewing tasks while considering the complexity of assignments and team members' expertise.

Experience may be acquired in public or private sectors. One year of experience is defined as full-time work; part-time work will be evaluated on a prorated basis. Ensure to provide detailed employment dates and hours worked per week on your resume.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14 level, you should have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, which includes:

  • Leading and directing initiatives in information security, industrial security, personnel security, operations security, and program administration.
  • Supervising the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to security.
  • Providing technical guidance on security protocols and management policies.
  • Applying principles and practices of suitability and national security.

Time-in-Grade: You must have served at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

Additional Information:

This position may require a probationary period and successful completion of a background investigation. A Top Secret Background Investigation will be necessary.
