About Our Retail Team

At The Salvation Army, we are committed to serving our local community through our retail stores. As a member of our retail team, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and contributing to the success of our Adult Rehabilitation Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that all customers and donors receive a genuine greeting and prompt assistance.
  • Stock and merchandise products on the sales floor, ensuring that they are visually appealing and easily accessible.
  • Maintain the store and donation area, keeping it clean, neat, and organized, and performing cleaning duties as assigned by management.
  • Follow all POS/Cash Register policies in accordance with TSA policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safety and compliance standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and customers.
  • Attend required monthly store meetings, staying informed about store operations and policies.
  • Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately and efficiently, ensuring that they are properly labeled and stored.
  • Provide quality assurance by inspecting products for defects and damages, and reporting any issues to management.
  • Courteously assist donors in the removal of donated items from their vehicles, providing receipts and ensuring that all items are properly sorted and stacked.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
  • Must pass a background check, which will include a criminal history and sex offender registry check.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
