The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is a non-profit organization that provides rehabilitation programs and services to individuals in need. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sales Associate/Material Handler to join our team at our Santa Rafael Thrift Store.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Sales Associate/Material Handler to assist with the daily operations of our thrift store. This includes receiving and processing donations, stocking shelves, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and process donations, including sorting and pricing items
  • Stock shelves and maintain a clean and organized store environment
  • Provide excellent customer service, including greeting customers and answering questions
  • Assist with sales floor maintenance, including cleaning and restocking
  • Operate a cash register and process transactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous retail experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
