Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Engineer to join our team at Bechtel Corporation. As a Project Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations, establishing and maintaining the schedule for a specific discipline area or specialty, and performing schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditure.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations
  • Establishes and maintains the schedule for a specific discipline area or specialty
  • Performs schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditure
  • Performs schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties
  • Assists with maintenance of critical path schedule reports and schedule performance metrics
  • Performs schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities
  • Monitors and validates subcontractor schedules
  • Assists with schedule recovery plans
Requirements
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site
  • Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Skilled in oral and written communication
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, and / or plant operations customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience
  • Proficiency in scheduling software applications (Primavera P6), cost processing applications (COBRA) and software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI
  • Experience in Project Controls with an understanding of Project Controls general technical skills and tools
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives
