Job Title: ASES Group Leader

Join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego team as an ASES Group Leader, where you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of young minds. Our mission is to inspire and enable youth to achieve academic success, build good character, and make healthy lifestyle choices.

Job Summary:

The ASES Group Leader will provide virtual and classroom instruction, assistance, and tutoring to students in the after-school program. You will lead engaging culturally rich academic, enrichment, and recreation activities, promoting the development of academic, physical, and social skills in youth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure programs and activities adhere to current health and safety protocols.
  • Assist with the development of a virtual online program.
  • Utilize virtual conferencing programs to facilitate communication and instruction.
  • Supervise members in program areas, maintaining a safe and positive atmosphere.
  • Develop culturally relevant daily lesson plans and activities.
  • Coordinate assigned program services and cooperative learning activities for youth.
  • Effectively plan and lead programs, services, and activities for members.
  • Responsible for daily set-up and clean-up of materials used during the program.
  • Maintain accurate program attendance records and submit them in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 48 units of college curriculum or completion of the Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) required.
  • Two (2) years' experience working directly with school-aged youth and knowledge of youth development preferred.
  • Experience using communication tools like Zoom and Skype preferred.
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth, instruct, coach, and direct varied activities.
  • Proficient computer skills - Microsoft Office, email, internet research, social media navigation.
