Electrical Commissioning Superintendent Job Description

Job Summary: KBR is seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Superintendent to lead the electrical commissioning activities for a multi-billion USD LNG project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily direction to electrical supervisors and technicians to ensure timely completion of electrical commissioning activities.
  • Develop switching programs for first energization events and complex switching scenarios.
  • Participate in regular progress and coordination meetings with commissioning, construction, and client personnel.
  • Prepare final submission of electrical PC&CSO procedures.
  • Ensure inspection and test records and PC&CSO electrical procedures are completed and signed on time.
  • Deploy electrical commissioning as-built plan and implement and follow up across all commissioning areas.
  • Provide electrical support to ready for energization and ready for start-up walk-down coordinators.
  • Oversee implementation of electrical component of permit to work system and associated electrical isolation certificates.
  • Identify required resources for electrical commissioning activities.
  • Provide progress updates to commissioning planner.
  • Coordinate complex interface tests with 3rd party equipment representatives and other commissioning disciplines.
  • Monitor status and usage of electrical spare parts.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications to perform electrical works as tradesman on the state of Louisiana.
  • Qualifications to perform electrical switching operations up to 13.8kV (or higher) on the state of Louisiana.
  • Previous experience as electrical commissioning superintendent on large oil & gas projects.
  • Previous experience as electrical commissioning superintendent on power plants with unit ratings in excess of 25MW.
  • Previous experience as electrical commissioning superintendent on facilities with large variable speed drives.
  • Over 20 years of overall electrical commissioning experience on progressive roles from technician to electrical commissioning superintendent.
  • NFPA 70E certification/training (or equivalent).
  • High school diploma and formal technical training in electrical construction, maintenance, and testing (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficient level with Microsoft Office applications and MS Project.
  • Valid TWIC card.
