About the Role:

The Paralegal will play a critical role in supporting our legal department by providing administrative assistance, conducting research, and analyzing data to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and investigate legal inquiries and referrals from various business units, providing timely and accurate responses.
  • Create and maintain regulatory compilations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist with contract owner matters, addressing issues related to annuity products and other assigned tasks.
  • Produce high-quality work products, handling multiple matters and processing a high volume of work with attention to detail.
  • Summarize facts and laws for review by supervising paralegals, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business unit representatives to address legal issues and situations impacting the annuities business.
  • Implement process improvements and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform legal research and analysis on statutory, regulatory, contractual, and general business matters.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, associate degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate or private practice environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with company technology, including software and databases.
  • Proven legal research and analytical skills, with the ability to make decisions based on research.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, attention to detail, and professional ethics and integrity.
  • Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing assignments.
  • Ability to establish and manage effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
